THE VISION

The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) started in 1952 under the leadership of the General Superintendent, Rev. G. O. Akindayomi. In 1982, Rev. Akindayomi handed over the mantle of leadership of the ministry to Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye.

Enoch Adeboye, a young ambitious University Lecturer with PhD in Applied Mathematics had the ambition to become the youngest University Vice Chancellor in Nigeria. Instead, God made him the General Overseer of the fastest growing Pentecostal church in Africa with over 4000 branches world wide.

BRIEF ON RCCG, PRAISE TABERNACLE

The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Praise Tabernacle, was inaugurated on Sunday, 6th of June, 1999. It started as a small parish with a congregation of about 150 worshippers led by Pastor Theophilus Martins.

Praise Tabernacle, a fast growing Christian Church now has an average population of 1,400 members, consisting about 1,000 adults, 100 teenagers and 300 children on Sunday services.

As a result of this rapid growth, the parish started two services on Sundays. The schedule of the services is as follows:
• First Service known as the “Early Risers Service” – 7:30am to 9:15am
• Sunday School – 9:15am to 10:00am
• Second Service which is the Main Service – 10:00am to 12:00 noon.

Apart from this, she has planted over 8 local parishes and 6 mission’s fields in Nigeria and Overseas. An Area Parish with about four local parishes under it can be referred to as the heart beat of God due to her commitment to missions and church planting.

As at today, the parish has planted churches in Nigeria and Overseas. Amongst them are: the Mission fields at Abegede and Kajola (Nigeria); RCCG, Praise Tabernacle, Togo, Uganda, Egypt, Lesotho and Texas in the United State of America. It has local Area Parishes namely: Sanctuary of Peace, and Praise Chapel in Nigeria.

The Church has various groups such as the children church instructors, the Welfare Club, Medical Team, Music Ministry, Mission’s Club, Elders, Good Women and Excellent Men fellowships, who organize various outreaches such as free medical care in villages, prison /hospital evangelism and crusades.

The Good Women, in obedience to (Mummy G.O.) Pastor (Mrs) Foluke Adeboye’s instruction, started a regular Sunday fellowship at Surulere General Hospital (Randle), Surulere, Lagos, Nigeria in September 2006. The fellowship is waxing stronger. Many patients have received the divine healing through the simple preaching of the gospel while many souls have been won to Christ

ABOUT THE CLUB

Missions Club is one of the fellowship groups of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Praise Tabernacle, Area 21, Lagos Province 3, in Surulere, Lagos, Nigeria. It was inaugurated in May 2005 in obedience to the calling by our Lord Jesus Christ in Mark 16:15, that we should “Go ye to the World and preach the gospel to every creature”

The Club is made up of about 33 male and female born again Christian adults who volunteered to serve the Lord with their heart and with all dedication. The executive consist the president - an ordained minister, a coordinator, secretary, treasurer and welfare officer. We have our meetings every Friday to pray and discuss on the way forward for the ministry.


Vision

The vision is to ‘GO’ in obedience to the command in Matthew 28:19 and in Mark 16:15: “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.”

Mission Statement

To take the Gospel to the Unreached Group in Judea, Samaria and in the uppermost part of the world regardless the challenges.

Membership

Club membership is restricted only to the Born Again and Spirit filled Christians without bias to ethics, culture, education or social status.

Committee

The executive / committee member of this club is made up of committed members of the Church. The post of PRESIDENT is headed by an ordained minister and a member of the Ministerial team of the church. Other offices include: Vice President 1 & 2, Secretary, Treasurer, Financial Secretary, Field Coordinator, Project Coordinator and Welfare officer. Executive’s activities are subject to review and change at the end of every year. New executives will be nominated except the office of the President which is permanent.

OUTREACHES

In response to the command and in fulfillment to the RCCG vision, we embarked on various outreaches in our local community in anticipation of taking the gospel to the unreached. We started by organizing outreaches such as crusades, medical, distribution of gift items mostly in the rural areas and villages.

Our first crusade was at a village called Ilogbo, a semi-urban area in Ojoo Local Government Area of Lagos State. Over 40 people participated in this programme including our Area Pastor, Theophilus Martins, and a bountiful harvest of souls was recorded.

From there, we proceeded to a village called Abegede in Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Area, also in Lagos State, Nigeria. It was a medical outreach that involved the participation of the church medical team, headed by our Pastor’s wife A/P (Mrs.) C. Z Martins, (a Pharmacist), doctors and all the medical personnel in church.

During the Mission week in June 2006, we broke new grounds at Kajola, a village located on Kilometer 15, along Lagos/Ibadan Express road. Many unbelievers gave their lives to Christ to the extent that we started a parish in this village the following day.



Labori Oloja

The 2007 Mission ushered our train to Labori Oloja, a suburb of Ikorodu, Lagos State and Ogijo in Ogun State, Nigeria.

CHURCH PLANTING / MISSION FIELDS: Nigeria

Abegede

We have a mission’s field at Abegede village. A riverine area along Lagos/Epe Express road. Being a Muslim community, the growth of the church has been gradual. We have bought two plots of land in this village and a Rafia Church has been built for the people.

Kajola

Kajola mission field is doing well. The fellowship, which started immediately after the crusade of June 2006, is producing good and positive result. Right now, the church has bought a plot of land and a church building project is about to commence.



Ajegunle, Apapa, Lagos Nigeria

The RCCG Good women of Lagos Province 3, Zone 1, organized a crusade in this location on Saturday, 30 May, 2009 where over 200 people gave their lives to Christ.
The Mission’s Club of Praise Tabernacle, quickly seizes the opportunity to establish these new coverts, went to Ajegunle to start a fellowship at Ajegunle the following day, 31st, May 2009.. As at July 2009, the fellowship has increased to about 42 regular members worshiping on Sunday



INTERNATIONAL EVANGELISM

Lome, Togo

In identifying with the RCCG vision of church planting, God led us to Togo in the year 2008 to survey the land for a possible crusade and subsequent church planting. About 33 members of the club left for Togo in June during the Missions Week. A new parish started in Togo on Sunday, December 7, 2008.
The Parish which had in attendance only 6 members in her first service, can now boast of over 78 worshipers on Sundays. Aside, they are on the verge of establishing a new parish at a place called Kouve, Togo, West Africa. It was inaugurated April 19, 2009.



Entebbe, Uganda

In fulfillment of the RCCG vision to spread the gospel in uppermost part of the world, we preceded to Entebbe, Uganda, East Africa, by January, 2009. Our missionary, Pastor Noel left Nigeria to start a church in Uganda on Saturday, 24th January 2009. We had the first service at Entebbe Uganda on Sunday, February 1, 2009.

Cairo, Egypt

RCCG Praise Tabernacle, Cairo had her first worship on Friday 8th May, 2009. About six people were in attendance. The parish had wonderful test of a rapid growth of about 700% increase within the last three months. They have 42 regular worshipers on their service days.
